A suburban-feeling enclave of North Center, Roscoe Village is many times referred to as the "village within the city," and for very good reason. Roscoe St. is the main artery of the neighborhood, and is packed on both sides with local restaurants, shops and boutiques.
There are three highly respected public schools within the neighborhood bounds of Roscoe Village: Audobon, Bell and Jahn. Hamlin Park is also a popular destination, featuring a swimming pool with family-oriented programming throughout the year.
While the exact bounds of Roscoe Village, and any Chicago neighborhood for that matter, are not always an exact science, many residents perceive the neighborhood to start at Addison St. in the north, and run to Belmont to the south. Ravenswood Avenue is the east bound and the Chicago River is the west.
